Frequently Asked Questions

Our specific address is:

We are in Milton Square, across the courtyard from Nico's. There is parking in the lot behind our building, off Carter Avenue.
I'm out of network with most insurance companies. This means that I take payment at the time of the session, rather than billing insurance and waiting for them to reimburse or deny the claim.
That said, I can easily provide a superbill (detailed receipt) if you choose to submit for out of network reimbursement through your plan or if you choose to use an HSA or FSA card.
If curious about whether you have out of network mental health benefits, I recommend calling the customer service line on the back of your insurance card and asking them:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health appointments?
What is my out-of-network deductible for mental health, and how much of it have I met this year?
Once the deductible is met, what percentage of the therapist's fee will you pay (co-insurance)?
Is there a limit to the number of sessions my plan covers per year?
How do I submit claim forms (superbills) for reimbursement?
Being out of network with insurance is more confusing than it sounds. Let me know if you have ANY questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
When insurance is involved in mental health care, they determine your treatment, including:

how often you can see your provider.
which providers you can see.
the diagnoses you must have to qualify for therapy.
when you no longer qualify for services.
Many insurance policies often require a deductible is met before they will begin to pay a percentage of the cost, even for in network providers!
My mission is to provide lasting and effective care that is driven by what you and your child need, not the interest of insurers.

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including therapy. This applies to medical costs if you are uninsured or if you are not using insurance.
This estimate will be provided before we begin treatment. If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your estimate, you can dispute it. Visit here to learn more: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
My approach to therapy is unique to the needs of each family. After we meet for the intake appointment, I'll have a better idea of the challenges your child is experiencing and can give treatment recommendations based on the goals we set together.
My job is to equip you and your child with the skills and confidence to one day "graduate" from therapy and go about your lives with more ease.
Appointments are typically between 8 AM to 5 PM. I sometimes offer Saturday or Sunday appointments. If you have concerns about your child missing school or extracurricular activities, let me know and we can discuss how to minimize disruptions to their schedule (and yours!).
While I can provide a general diagnosis based on your child's symptoms, I typically refer families to specialized testing if there is question around whether a child has ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or a learning disability. Regardless of the diagnosis, we'll get to the root of your child's challenges and find tools that help them feel their best.
